A timeline of the Bible and world history
Markers follow the story. Scripture has no calendar year on this map. Zoom in and more of the story appears.
Drag the timeline to travel. On a phone, one finger drags and two fingers pinch to zoom. The buttons on the map zoom in, zoom out, and show everything from Creation to today. Zooming in reveals more people, places, and events. You can also jump with the period buttons or search for a name.
Scripture — the Bible tells this. Historical — records from history tell this. Interpretation — a careful idea about a date or a connection. Purple diamonds are never presented as settled fact.
Markers sit in story order. Scripture does not get a calendar year. If the Bible does not print a year, the marker leaves the year empty.
Historical markers show a date only when a source gives one, in the source's own words. Khufu and the Great Pyramid stay historical, with the usual Egyptology description (early 25th century BCE). That description is not turned into a made-up BC number, and it is not moved to sit after the Flood.
Purple diamonds are interpretations. They are not settled fact, and they do not decide questions the Bible leaves open, such as which pharaoh ruled in Joseph's or Moses' day.
Filter books by a child’s age, reading level, fiction or nonfiction, period, and topic. Reading path lines those books up in timeline order. It is a path, not a dump of every title. Notes flag war, slavery, myths, and older attitudes. This library leaves out evolution taught as fact, and it leaves out vulgar or sexual material.
Arrow keys move. Plus and minus zoom. Home shows the whole timeline. Tab reaches markers. Enter opens one. Escape closes the panel or this help.
